How to Use the Carmeleon Touch-Up Bundle

Step 1: Prepare and Clean

The repair surface must be completely dry and clean. Remove all residual road grime, silicone detailing sprays, and car wax. For optimal adhesion, wipe the area down with a dedicated panel wipe or degreaser using a lint-free cloth. If the scratch has penetrated down to bare metal or plastic, apply a thin coat of the Carmeleon Primer using the precision applicator. Allow it to cure fully.

Step 2: Shake and Test

Vigorously shake your Colour-Matched paint pen for 2 to 3 minutes to guarantee that heavy pigments and metallic flakes are evenly suspended. Crucial Tip: Always test a tiny amount of paint inside a hidden area (such as an inner door shut) and allow it to dry for 15 minutes. Automotive basecoats settle to a flat matte appearance as they cure and will look visually lighter or darker until the gloss clear lacquer is introduced.

Step 3: Paint and Seal

Choose your applicator: pull firmly on the clear lid to access the fine needle-nib, or unscrew the white collar to use the brush. Apply thin, light layers only inside the boundaries of the damage. Do not overlap paint onto the original factory lacquer, as this can create raised edges. Leave each layer to dry for 15–20 minutes. Once satisfied with the colour depth, allow it to cure for 1 hour, then seal the repair using smooth, steady strokes of the Carmeleon Clear Lacquer to lock in protection and shine.
